MEET AARON BENNETT
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR LINCOLN COUNTY
My name is Aaron Bennett and I am running for Lincoln County Sheriff in 2024. I was raised in Chandler and graduated from Chandler H.S. I am a lifelong Republican and supporter of citizen’s and gun rights. In 2003, I started my career in law enforcement at the Chandler Police Department. I have spent my career working within and serving the citizens of Lincoln County. During my time in law enforcement, I have been assigned to patrol, K9 officer, field training officer, patrol supervisor, investigator, school resource officer, and supervisor of county school resource officers. I also currently serve as the public information officer for Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. I am a certified instructor for the State of Oklahoma, teaching areas such as law enforcement response to active shooters and have completed the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Academy. I have also worked with other schools in our county and met with superintendents that resulted in the expansion of county deputies in our schools as school resource officers. I currently work for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and have been recognized as
2019- lifesaving award
2021- Investigator of the year
2022-Peace Officer of the Year.
I was also nominated by Sheriff Charlie Dougherty and was a finalist for deputy of the year in the State of Oklahoma through the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association in 2022.
At 43 years of age, I want to be your sheriff because I care about the citizens of Lincoln County and the safety of our children. I am prepared for the long term commitment of being the sheriff this county needs. I currently live in Chandler with my wife of 14 years, and 13 year old son. My wife is a nurse at Stroud Regional Hospital. If elected, I will build a team committed to serving the citizens of Lincoln County. I will continue to protect our children in schools and make sure the deputies in the schools get the best training. I will be working with federal, state, tribal, and local agencies to combat the illegal marijuana grows that has brought organized crime to our area.
As a school resource officer for the last 4 1/2 years, and being the supervisor over multiple deputies that work in our schools, I know first hand of the importance and the vital role a school resource officer plays at a school. In this day and age, not only is it a benefit to have law enforcement in our schools, it is expected for the safety and security of our children.
